With exams and the final Taystea night of the academic year at Monkey (which went really well, thanks to all who came and supported us again), we haven’t really had time to post as many blog entries as before. Nevertheless, it’s fully summer now, which is good for many reasons, but particularly good because it means both that we have time to write articles and also that the music scene right-now is jam-packed with summery tunes, perfect for a BBQ, chilling on the beach or even just sat in your garden in the sun.
So, I decided that instead of releasing this next 10 reasons to focus on one producer, I’d focus it upon DTB’s favourite summer tunes right now, nice and early, so you can make the most of them in the sun all summer long. Get ready for some funky, disco(y?), uplifting summer house tunes. Viva la 120(ish).
After kicking off last time with the smoothed out, liquid vibes of Lenzman, our next installment will provide you with 10 of the best reasons for you to start/continue listening to and loving the London-based house producer and DJ Sonny Fodera.
Expect deep vibes, techy vibes, miami vibes and balearic vibes from this incredibly talented producer and DJ.
With a Techno theme running deep through the veins of Taystea HQ here in Swansea this week, I though there would be no better time that to introduce a new little feature, My YouTube music channel of the week. A simple, weekly running post that aims to highlight those who are making sure my taste in music doesn’t fall behind, whilst showing you guys a little something or too and hopefully learn something myself.
Having been out of touch with the UK music scene for a couple of months, it was incredibly refreshing to be plunged back in ears first by one of my favourite London labels. Discos Dead are an emerging UK Techno & House label whose back catalogue includes the likes of Circula, Chubba & Pulsecode. This week saw its third official vinyl release – Effys: Forth/The Look.
This week’s midweek mix introduces Ryan Maguire, A.K.A. Magz, a West Midlands bred DJ, now based in Nottingham. Enjoy this mix of UK house and bass which covers a range of tunes, some of which you’ll recognise, some you may not…
